Contabo often looks stronger when you maximize RAM and disk on a fixed budget. Prefer Hetzner for straightforward cloud VPS defaults and stronger brand trust in EU ops circles. Prefer Contabo when the published Core VPS package gives you more memory than Hetzner at a similar monthly spend. Check term length and traffic fair-use on both.

Contabo
Best for: Budget VPS buyers who want maximum RAM and disk for the money, especially EU workloads and self-hosted stacks.
Watch out: Advertised prices often assume longer terms (e.g. 24 months). Port speed caps and fair-use traffic rules matter more than the unlimited label. Support is lighter than DigitalOcean or Hostinger.
Hetzner Cloud
Best for: EU workloads where euro list price and RAM-per-dollar matter more than US tutorial polish.
Watch out: Thin US footprint. Support is email-first and assumes you know Linux. Latency to North America hurts if Falkenstein is your only region.
