How we compare

Methodology

We track a curated set of entry and mid-tier Linux KVM plans from DigitalOcean, Linode (Akamai), Vultr, Hetzner Cloud, Contabo, Hostinger, and OVHcloud.

Data

• Prices and specs are taken from official provider pricing pages.
• Each plan stores a source URL and an updated_at date.
• Euro list prices (Hetzner, Contabo) may be shown as approximate USD for comparison.
• Promo / multi-year intro rates (Hostinger, Contabo) are labeled — always check renewal pricing.

Price tracker

We also keep dated snapshots of the same plan table (price tracker) and ship an interactive VPS Finder. Snapshots are appended with scripts/snapshot_prices.py when list prices change.

Verdicts

Comparison pages include an original editorial verdict (not vendor copy) plus a side-by-side table of vCPU, RAM, disk, bandwidth, and monthly price.

What we exclude in v1

• Windows VPS and GPU specialty SKUs as primary rankings
• Managed WordPress hosts sold as shared hosting
• Coupon or cashback framing
